Hiking time: 2 hours
Level of difficulty: easy

Route description

The farm hike in St. Martin is a pleasant walk of two hours and gives a great opportunity to explore the area. From the tourist office, walk along the valley road on the pavement to the “Marakirchl” (church dedicated to the Virgin Mary) and from there turn left to the Hotel Waldruhe in the Preindl hamlet. The southwest offers a stunning view of the Seekofel (mountain) 2810 m. Now continue down to the “Säge” (saw mill) and past the Bar Bistro Martins. After approximately 200 m paved road cross the Gieser Stream on the left and follow the Pidig Stream along its bank and pass the wind and weather-beaten “Örler”, “Galler” and “Blasler” Farms. A piety column, immediately by the stream, reminds the hiker of the Christian and local culture. Cross over the wooden bridge to the main road and from there either return to the starting point, or continue into the valley to the Kapaiern hamlet. On your right, at the piety column, cross the stream once more and return to St. Martin on the country lane on the orographic left side of the valley.
