General description

"Legends and stories about the Sextner Tal valley and the Alta Pusteria/Hochpustertal valley have been told and passed on here for years. Now these many fairytales and stories have been used to create a Fable Trail (Fabelweg) in Sesto. Figures depicting characters from all kinds of legends have been set up along the route, giving visitors an insight into a different world.
From Sesto, the Contemplation Trail (Besinnungsweg) takes you to the exciting Fable Trail, which leads to the mountain station of the Helm cable car. For less experienced hikers, the Fable Trail can also be reached by going downhill from the Helm mountain station.
Start: Sesto church or Helm mountain station
Destination: Helm mountain station or Sesto church
Difference in altitude: 700 m
Walking time: If starting at Sesto church: approx. 3 hours (with a climb of 700 m); If starting at the Helm mountain station: approx. 1.5 hours (with a descent of 700 m)
Route: Start at Sesto church: Follow the Contemplation Trail to the woodland chapel (Waldkapelle), then continue on trail no. 4 to the Helm mountain station; Start at the Helm mountain station: Trial no. 4 to the woodland chapel, then along the Contemplation Trail to the church in Sesto.
The trail is open from the end of April to the end of October (Note: the opening hours for the Helm cable car can be found at: http://www.s-dolomiten.com)
