Vom Parkplatz an der Schmiederalm startet die Loipe Nr. 11a für Skater und klassische Langläufer, führt durch herrlichen Fichtenwald vorbei an der Schönrastalm bis ins Kösertal. Dort führt die Loipe Nr. 12b teils eben, teils gering ansteigend weitere 4 Kilometer in Richtung Neuhüttalm auf 1.791 m. Nach kurzer Rast geht es über die Loipe mit Markierung Nr. 14 vorbei am Auerleger und weitere 1,5 Kilometer auf Loipe Nr. 15 bis Jochgrimm, zwischen Weiß- und Schwarzhorn gelegen. Die Baumgrenze ist hier erreicht und die Blicke fallen auf die nahe gelegenen, tief verschneiten Berge.{MQ}Der Rückweg führt bis Neuhütt über dieselben Loipen. Ab Neuhütt führt Loipe Nr. 12a bis ins Kösertal. Auf diesem Streckenabschnitt kann man immer wieder auf das romantisch verschneite Kloster Maria Weißenstein und das Etschtal bis hinauf zu den Meraner Bergen blicken. Vom Kösertal führt die Loipe Nr. 11a wieder durch märchenhaften Fichtenwald zurück bis zur Schmiederalm.
From the car park at the Schmiederalm Alpine farm, cross-country skiing trail no. 11a, for skaters and classic skiers, leads through the magnificent spruce forests past the Schönrastalm Alpine farm into the Kösertal valley. From there trail no. 12b continues for another 4 km over flat, sometimes slightly ascending terrain towards the Neuhüttalm Alm Alpine farm at 1,791 m. After a short rest, continue on trail no. 14 past the Auerleger Alpine farm and a further 1.5 km on trail no. 15 to the Jochgrimm pass between the Weißhorn and Schwarzhorn mountains. Here you reach the tree line and the nearby snow-covered mountains come into view. {MQ}Return via the Neuhütt Alpine farm on the same cross-country trails. At Neuhütt, trail no. 12A leads into the Kösertal valley. Enjoy views of the romantic snow-covered Maria Weißenstein monastery, the Etschtal, and the Merano/Meran mountains. From the Kösertal valley trail no. 11A leads through the fairytale spruce forest back to the Schmiederalm.
